Welcome to forgood, where we use technology to connect Givers to Causes. We need software developers with at least 8 years’ experience to join us while we reach our high ambitions.
What we do
We facilitate impactful connections between citizens, companies, and NGOs, with over 40 000 connections to date, including skills-based volunteering, goods donations and money donations.
Our dream is to reinvent the social impact space by helping corporates leverage their human capital to create change. We currently work with 16 large corporates in SA and the UK. We have more than 35,000 employees registered on our platform.
Our SaaS product allows big corporates to create, scale and measure employee volunteering programmes, a critical piece of the employee engagement ecosystem.

Who we are
We’re a small company of nine dedicated people who are all about taking responsibility, close-collaboration, teamwork and frequent communication. We make most decisions together – from long-term strategy to day-to-day implementation choices. Being part of a small team, we have the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the business as well (great environment for personal and career growth).
Where you come in
Our primary focus is on the people we serve, and the product we provide to achieve this. We’re conservative about changing technologies and have a stable codebase (fewer than 10 known bugs). We deploy code anywhere from several times a week to several times a day.
We use ‘ordinary’ technologies (listed below) and all of us work on the entire stack. We don’t expect you to have experience with all of the technology we use, or even to have used all of them before. What we do expect from you is to do your best and to learn our tools, codebase and way of working. You’ll be working with two other very senior developers.
The tech stack and tools we use includes C#, .Net, React, Ionic, Typescript, Azure, Postgresql, Visual Studio, VSCode & Git.
Our hiring process is based on alignment of values, cultural addition, style of working and the ability to solve problems and deliver working software. We’re less interested in whether you have a degree and more interested in what experience you’ve gathered (a minimum of 8 years is what we need in our team).
